Yoga STRETCH App Reviews

Would like more

This app is more for the beginning yoga student. I would like: 1. a feature where you can enter your own hold time 2. a feature where you can go from warrior 1 to warrior 2, and stay on the same side (rather than switch right and left) 3. more poses, of course - 35 poses just arent enough I like the add your own music feature and ease of use of the app

Average

I consider myself a beginner/intermediate... Pros: 1. Great for travel. 2. Has a lot of poses both easy and difficult. 3. Good audio instructions. 4. Good music to pick from or use your own. Cons: 1. Creating sessions is hard. You cant move poses around, instead you have to delete them one by one. So if you have a pose near the beginning you want to change, you have to delete every pose after it to get to it. You also cant change the length of the poses. 2. Some of the poses are very long. It would be nice to have the ability to choose shorter poses. 3. Pictures can be difficult to see, takes time to learn the poses. Great app for the price and have it in your pocket!

Please!

Pleaseee! Please add more stretches if possible! The Best Yoga App!!

Good for beginners!

I have really enjoyed this app. Its so nice to be able to do your own yoga work out at home and for a low price. I do however wish that customizing your your routine was a little easyer to customize. It is very frustrating. And it would be nice to have s more detailed image. So incase you get confused. And the time between switching positions, and too different sides could be improved.

Worth every cent

I am very grateful for this ap. I love yoga and hate working out in front of people. This ap comes with a preloaded 1 hour yoga "class" and the abillity to create custom ones as well. It goes throught the gamut of the basic yoga poses and is challenging for a beginner. It comes with its own yogi music, or you can use your own. My only qualm is the disparity between the volume of the instructor and my own music when I use it. She speaks so softly and I cant figure out how to turn my music down while in the yoga ap. I may just go back to using the aps own music, which is well suited anyway. I imagine Ill be downloading the variation of this ap soon. A great way to work out at home.

Not for iPhone 4

App isnt designed for use by iPhone 4 - no retina graphics or icons...and this app relies HEAVILY on graphics. So it looks terrible. What a shame - I loved this app on my older iPhones.

Very cool!!

I use this whenever I cant make it to the gym and its just as good. I especially love that you can customize a workout. Just wish it had a few more poses and that you can customize the time. Other than that, I love it!!

Very disappointed

I was excited to have an app to design classes in, but there are only 45 poses. In order to be functional as a planning tool it needs at least 100. Also, some of the Sanskrit names are wrong. For example warrior is virabadrasana, not danurasana which is really wheel.

Gigi

Wow this is cool app. Took me a little to figure it out but I love the instructions on the poses and the fact that I can use my own music. Nice! I am heading out of town and wanted a yoga routine I could use. This is just right!

Best yoga app Ive tried

I like the one hour routine it comes with and how each posed is timed just right by the narrator.

This application is great...but

I found this application great for regular practice but with more poses and greater detail to graphics it it could be incredible...please...next update and please the same for your Yoga Relax application; make them a bit more original.

Beg/int.

Love it! U dont have to fumble with anything on your phone either , it doesnt distract you. It gently reminds u of the next pose.

Brought this for the cheap ambiance music.

Very good app. Good music too. Better than paying $9.99 for ambiance music. This is a keeper for my hot Yoga. Although the heat and sweat is not good for my iPhone.

Needs more editing controls

First, I love being able to select my own sequence of poses from 35 pictures. I like the ability to substitute music from my iPod, and control whether the instructor gives detailed instructions. But the Edit page is sorely lacking. They make the text so small to fit the entire workout on one page, that you can barely read the poses. You can delete the last pose(s) you added, add new ones, or finish & name your workout. But what gets frustrating is the way the left and right sequences are handled. If you add Warrior 1,2,&3, it adds it in this order: Warrior 1 r, warrior 1 L, Warrior 2 r, warrior 2 L, and Warrior 3 r, warrior 3 L. It makes no sense to switch legs like that. A better flow is to do all three Warrior poses on a right front leg and then switch to left front leg and do all three Warrior poses. The same thing goes for Down Dog 2&3, pigeon, and a host of other poses. What the Edit interface needs is a standard list, where you can select individual poses by line buttons on the right to drag & drop an individual pose, and radio buttons on the left to Delete the selected pose(s). One app that uses this list interface particularly well is Wunderbears Home Routines. What seems to complicate matters is the Duration appended to the pose name. Honestly, Id like the Option to edit the poses duration for a yin yoga session. But what might work in lieu of editing the pose duration is the addition of another row of selectable poses that includes a "15" pose icon that leads to the instruction to continue this pose for 15 more seconds. I can add multiple instances of this 15 pose as needed. To fill the row, there are certainly other poses that would be worth including in addition to the 15 pose: cobbler, dragonfly, moon, and supported bridge are all great for prenatal workouts but appear to be missing.

Love the app!

I love this app! Is the best yoga app Ive found so far and is very inexpensive. I just wish that the poses in Yoga Relax and Yoga Stretch were available in just 1 app. When doing a total body routine, I would like to take poses from both apps to make up the work out.

Transitions?

I cant always find an hour for yoga, but if I make a custom routine for just 20 minutes or something, the transitions are nonexistent or clunky. Could you please add shorter routines with smoother transitions?

Good app

I agree with others that this is one of the best yoga apps. The teachers voice is nice to listen to and is soothing. The instruction with the moves is helpful, but I wish there were more poses and that the editing screen were better. If you decide you want to change the sequence of moves youve added, you have to delete everything youve put in and reenter it all. It would be nice if you could select a certain move in the sequence and either delete it or move it without having to change everything else. But most of all I would love MORE POSES, please.

Great yoga app

I love this app, the voice is soothing, the music is soft, and I like the animation of the poses. Its really easy to customize a routine for myself since Im a beginner and I know that once I get more advanced this app will still be relevant because it has a good mix of beginner and advanced poses.

Pretty decent.

Affordable, easy and convenient, though I wish there were transitions between poses. Oh and iits breathe, not breath. Thats been driving me crazy.

no audio on iPad

I love love this app, but the audio does not work at all (no music or instructor) when you run it on an iPad. Same goes for the sister app, Yoga Relax. Its the only reason Im not giving it 5 stars. Please please fix it so I can use it on the bigger screen of my iPad!!! Otherwise this is a great yoga session!
